Just when you thought the week's biggest news would be the Rugby World Cup and Julius Malema's exploits, it turns out there's much more juicy news on the scene.

As you may know, SABC1 announced that Kenny Kunene's new reality show So What? would be starting on the channel this Thursday (8 September). They sent out news about it, the premiere date was confirmed and next thing wham - e.tv snatched it.

e.tv hosted a bash on Thursday night to announce that the channel would be debuting the series as the third of three new reality shows. The other two are Blame It On Fame - which starts tonight - and a new Zola reality show called Rolling with Zola, which starts on Sunday 25 September at 18h30.

Kenny's show was the headline surprise splash of the evening: champagne was on tap and Kenny made a grand entrance to give the details on the show. Loyiso Gola was the master of ceremonies - he introduced him and next thing - double wham: he started going off about Kenny and the show, launching into a tirade.

According to the website Baydu, he had this to say:

"How can you f****n’ come here revving your Lamborghinis while outside here people are starving; you speak about women like that while there is Aids out there killing people.

“I don’t give a f**k about your show (or) who you are because this is bulls**t man! How are kids going to find inspiration in such a bulls**t show.”

Word from a witness is that it seemed he was joking at first - when next thing - triple wham: it all changed into definitely not.

As for the show doing the switch between channels - word from our mole is that Kenny never signed an agreement with SABC1 for the series. Apparently they were in talks but the paperwork was never done and he decided that e.tv would be a better fit for the show. No premiere date has been set for it but it'll most likely start in October.

By Friday morning SABC1 was still blissfully unaware of the turn of events. We sent a query about the series and were told that "there are changes regarding the show," and that was it.

By this morning the channel seemed to know what's going on and informed us that Shreds & Dreams will be taking over the Thursday evening timeslot at 22h00, followed by a repeat of After Nine in October.

In a nutshell Kenny Kunene's escapades have been something of a trainwreck - will you be rubbernecking?

“It will mentor young people to work hard, adults to not hate our success and teach young girls to know that us rich men will throw money at them and dump them,”

how is he supposed to be an inspiration making such utterances? No, I wont miss him or his show. he brags a lot, and we can only hope that he uses his money wisely and wont be broke in 3 years. New money can make people do strange things.
