TVSA can confirm that the new reality show coming to M-Net later this year is a fourth season of
Big Brother South Africa.
M-Net officials remain tight-lipped about the identity of the show, but TVSA has it on good authority that it is indeed a brand new Big Brother.
We met with M-Net in Johannesburg last week and were told that an exciting reality show was going to be announced imminently.
We pressed them for details, even going so far as to ask whether it was a brand new show or simply a new season of a show, but all we got in reply was bowed heads, half-smiles and utter refusal to reveal any more than that.
We dragged one of the publicity chicks into a dark stairwell on our way out and used our best Jack Bauer interrogation techniques on her, but those M-Net publicity chicks are made of sterner stuff than you could ever imagine.
Pain of death was more frightening to her than physical pain, you see, and in the end we let her go, at about the same time the security klaxons started blaring.
We made like Norris, and chucked.
Site editor Tashi Tagg wrote
a speculative article about it on Monday this week, and one poster (jcda1), who replied to the article, wrote the following:
"I've heard from someone in the know at Endemol that it's going to be Big Brother 4. Mark my words!"
Naturally TVSA has its own mole at Endemol, who we contacted to bully for the truth. We cunningly made as if it was already fact, and asked instead whether it would be a third or fourth season.
Our mole told us it would be a fourth season, because Big Brother Africa was considered the third instalment of Big Brother South Africa.
Nailed, baby. BB4 it is.
We have no further details at this stage, but will naturally confirm everything as soon as we can.
UPDATE(Friday 13 April)M-Net has confirmed that it is indeed a new Big Brother - the second season of BB Africa. They have also announced a 4th season of Idols.
