Stripteaze is a South African adult reality competition television show produced by Ben Badenhorst Productions in which male and female contestants compete for prizes valued at R300,000 in a weekly elimination format.
It was the first local reality show produced by and exclusively for the satellite channel actionX, which later became rebranded as M-Net Action.
Stripteaze premiered on actionX on Saturday 1 September, 2007, at 23h00.
Show Format
Stripteaze consists of weekly one-hour episodes in which the male and female contestants perform stripping routines in front of a panel of judges headed by Teazers boss Lolly Jackson.
A number of competitors are chosen from the audition phases to participate in the first round.
Each week viewers at home vote for their favourite performers via SMS and have the sole say as to who goes and who stays - the judges are merely there to offer advice and opinions, but have no influence on the voting procedure.
The male and female performers with the most votes then advance to the next round, after which they compete for a place in the finals.
Stripteaze performances are theme-based and the performers will only strip down to their g-strings.
The winners will receive prizes to the value of R300,000. The winning male dancer wins a Ducati motorcycle, while the best Female Dancer wins a 1.4 VW Golf.
The show is hosted by Antonio Summerton. Judges include Lolly Jackson and model Christina Storm.
