DEA is an American reality television series produced by Al Roker Entertainment, Inc. in association with Size 12 Productions which follows the jobs of a squad of Drug Enforcement Administration special agents as they track down leads and make narcotics busts on houses suspected of selling, producing, or trafficking drugs.
The series aired in the USA on Spike TV from 2 April, 2008 to 7 April, 2009. There are 15 hour-long episodes in two seasons.
DEA premiered in South Africa on TopTV's Top One channel on Wednesday 10 August 2011, at 20h00. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 2 premiered on Top One on Wednesday 21 September 2011, at 20h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are nine episodes in the second season.
Synopsis
Spike TV was given exclusive access to follow a group of Special Agents and Task Force Officers in the DEA Detroit division as they risk their lives daily in the ongoing battle against illegal drugs.
The series follows Special Agents as they work cases ranging from street level dealers all the way up to international drug traffickers.
Get a first-hand look at what it is like for Special Agents to go out on undercover missions and pose as drug dealers and be there when the DEA busts down doors as Special Agents execute drug raids that put their lives directly in the line of fire.
The series also takes a look at the complex relationship that Special Agents have with informants, revealing the strange kinship they share with these criminals who see themselves not as arch enemies, but rather as opponents in "the game" of the illegal drug trade.
