Season 3

In the new season, Hilton Du Bois (Terence Bridgett) takes over as head of the Zero Tolerance Unit. Newcomers to the Unit - Emma Mokgotsi (Nthati Moshesh) and feisty Hannalie de Kock (Sandra Vaughn) - join long-time detectives Sakkie Bezuidenhout (Ben Kruger) and Simiso Mtshali (Meshack Mavuso) in their mission to fight crime.

The difference between the third season of Zero Tolerance and the previous two is that the interest of the series is no longer confined to South Africa - it now includes our country's relationship with bordering neighbours.

Another variation is that all but four episodes each have a self-contained story, which can be watched independently. These four episodes were re-edited into two full-length television films called Beat Out The Devil and Legacy.

The first episode, entitled "The Cure" sets the tone for this gripping investigative series. A Unabomber is killing members of the public including a valued member of the Zero Tolerance Unit. The bomber's motives seem political and the Unit tries to ascertain whether this is a right or left wing attacker.

In a tense and dangerous investigation, the Unit discovers the motives and identity of the killer. This episode features multi-award-winning actor Sean Taylor who now lives in Australia.

Also included in the cast is radio star Pabi Moloi, who for the first time, appears in a television drama. Charlotte Butler and Norman Anstey also star in this episode.

Zero Tolerance was co-created by Sara and Hilary Blecher, co-developed by Indra de Lanerolle and produced by Ochre Moving Pictures and Cinga Productions. The executive series producer was Hilary Blecher and the executive producer was Indra de Lanerolle. The executive producer for SABC2 was Rosa Keet. The composer was Philip Miller.
