Season 3

This series, created by uber-author Michael Crichton, is set in the Emergency Room of a busy Chicago hospital. It follows the doctors and nurses through both their personal and professional lives and draws you in to their trials and tribulations.

This third season of ER continued to be as compelling as the first two. The old characters continued to face their struggles and battles. Dr Carter begins to doubt his surgical aspirations and begins to focus more on the ER.

Dr Susan Lewis decides to leave Chicago to be closer to her sister. But before she leaves, she and Dr Greene enjoy some flirtatious episodes.

Dr Greene also suffers a setback when he is violently attacked in the hospital. He struggles to deal with this experience.

Dr Doug Ross rethinks his attitude to life and to women when a one-night stand suffers a seizure in his apartment. He tries to resestablish his relationship with Carol Hathaway. Ross also gets deeply involved in helping a teenage homeless girl.

Dr Peter Benton has to deal with a tough situation when his ex-girlfriend Jeannie, tests HIV positive.

Dr Weaver continues to assert her authority in the ER constantly coming up against her fellow doctors. New additions to the hospital included new Chief of Staff Donald Anspaugh, intern Maggie Doyle and top paediatric surgeon, Abby Keaton.
