In the early 2000s there was no way of turning on the TV and not seeing La La. Whether she was hosting MTV's popular video countdown show Direct Effect or TRL, grilling Hollywood superstars or rubbing elbows with music royalty, La La held her own.
With a girl next door appeal, the veteran of radio (Atlanta's Hot 97 and LA's 100.3 The Beat) mastered the art of hosting and spot interviews.
Her skills didn't stop there. On the small screen, La La impressed with stints as the host of several memorable VH1 reality show specials before becoming the subject of her own reality special alongside husband, Carmelo Anthony.
The prolific scorer has impressed his entire career. After leading Syracuse to their first NCAA National Championship in 2003, this basketball phenom was selected third in the draft by the Denver Nuggets and never looked back.
The three time All-Star also proudly represented the USA at several Olympic games, winning a bronze at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and bringing home the gold as a member of The Redeem Team at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
In this series, we follow La La as she transitions from her relatively sleepy life in her sprawling Denver mansion to the hustle and bustle of New York City when Carmelo is traded to the Knicks.
She must negotiate all the stresses that any move brings while keeping her brand new marriage and young son a top priority. Add to all of this La La's acting career, which is just picking up steam as she attempts to transition from humble host to Hollywood hotshot.
But despite her and Carmelo's respective successes and an A-list lifestyle that keeps them in the company of some of the biggest celebrity names such as 50 Cent, Kelly Rowland, and Serena Williams, they remain a down-to-earth couple who have never forgotten where they've come from.
