In Season Five, the past comes back to create problems for the staff at Blush magazine.
For Elliott, it's the return of his con artist brother. For Nina, it's a visit by her younger sister and for Jack, it's the unexpected return of his ex-wife Allie.
Meanwhile, Maya is reunited with some childhood friends and discovers how an alcoholic classmate's false accusations caused her to be ostracized in high school.
Meanwhile, efforts by Finch to pick up a beautiful woman lead him to discover that it's actually an old friend who had a sex change.
Set in the New York editorial offices of the fictional fashion magazine Blush, Just Shoot Me! follows the lives of Blush's colorful staff, including Maya Gallo, a serious journalist who is determined to change the magazine's fluffy tone despite the efforts of her father, Blush publisher Jack Gallo, who remains focused solely on his bottom line and the things he feels women want.
Also on staff are beauty and fashion editor Nina Van Horn, a fast-living, neurotic ex-model; Blush's commitment-phobic, in-house photographer, Elliott DiMauro, and Jack's wisecracking, power-hungry assistant, Dennis Finch.
Broadcast Notes
Season 5 premiered on e.tv on Tuesday 30 December 2014, at 20h00. It aired in that timeslot until Episode 9 (which aired on 24 February, 2015) after which it went on hiatus, being replaced by Ashes to Ashes.
It resumed with Episode 10 on Thursday 4 June 2015 at 17h30, with new episodes airing on weekdays at the same time until Friday 12 June. Thereafter the remaining episodes broadcast on Thursdays and Fridays at 17h30, beginning with Episode 17 on Thursday 18 June.
