Season 2
Umlilo follows the Simelanes, a moderately affluent Johannesburg family headed by the dynamic patriarch Mnqobi Simelane (Hamilton Dhlamini), a self-made businessman in his 40s, who is in a polygamous relationship.
In the Season 1 finale, Dumile (Nokuthula Ledwaba) and Spikiri (Daniel Hadebe) finally discovered that Khwezi (Nomzamo Mbatha) was not who she said she was.
Dumile tried to stop the wedding between her husband Mnqobi and Khwezi with the evidence she dug up, only to discover that Khwezi found incriminating evidence against her: a sonar scan of the baby Dumile once carried.
Dumile therefore had no choice but to allow and 'bless' the marriage of her husband and his nyantsi.
In Season 2, Khwezi joins the other two wives and Mnqobi's daughters, Andile (Omuhle Gela) and Phindile (Fezeka Ndlazilwana), in their new house. Just when Khwezi thought she'd finally silenced her number one threat, the drama continues.
Mnqobi's first wife Cebisile becomes suspicious and Khwezi and her uncle Welcome (Masoja Msiza) realise they have a new threat on their radar, especially after their plan to murder Dumile failed.
Khwezi is determined to keep her past buried, while she continues her plans to destroy the Simelane clan. The verdict is still out on whether Khwezi will be successful in her quest for revenge on Mnqobi.
In the first episode of Season 2, entitled "A Time to Kill": A week after the wedding Mnqobi springs a big surprise on his family - the Simelanes are moving to a new home, bigger than the old place, to accommodate all three wives.
Now that she's part of the family, Khwezi starts putting her plan of vengeance into action. But who will she target first? Her nemesis Dumile? Or the increasingly suspicious Cebisile?
In the second episode, entitled "The First Wife", Mnqobi returns from his business trip to find Cebisile gravely ill and TK talking to a journalist about company business.
When Andile discovers it was because of her father that TK left her, she is enraged, but all thoughts of getting even go on the back burner when she finds her mother passed out on the floor.
