Season 1

Diski Divas is a South African docu-reality television series which turns the spotlight on five soccer WAGS (wives of soccer players), who open their homes and lives to cameras as they reveal the challenges of living a high-profile life, and shows how these soccer royalty babes live the life that ordinary folks only dream of.

The series gives an up-close view into the glitz and the glamour of their big nights out and the trimmings that come with being on the arm of some of the beautiful game's biggest stars. It reveals what it takes to live in a high stakes world - the drama, the back-stabbing, the fear of losing it all in one quick move.

It follows the journeys of each of the WAGS – where they come from; what it took to get where they are; their hopes and aspirations; the different aspects of their lives, from parenting to careers; the sacrifices they have had to make and the ups-and-downs of being in a scene that can be harsh and unforgiving.

Pivotal to all of these are the Diski Divas' relationships with their soccer playing men – both past and present.

The five Diski Divas who open their hearts and homes are Felicia Modise, the former wife of Teko Modise; Gaositwe "Gigi" Pule, the wife of Bournemouth and Bafana Bafana player Tekelo Rantie; Nonhle Ndala, Andile Jali's girlfriend; Wendy Parker, the wife of Bernard Parker; and Kat Mohoadube, the ex-girlfriend of former Kaizer Chiefs captain, Jimmy Tau.

The five didn't remain on the show for the full first season. In May 2015 the series was hit by a scandal when a fight broke out between cast members during a radio interview. The altercation involved Wendy Parker, Kat Mohoadube and Nonhle Ndala and resulted in the involvement of the police. Wendy and Kat were fired from the show because of incident and the series continued without them.

More about each of them:

The Divas

Felicia ModiseFelicia Modise

Felicia Modise (29) is a small town girl, born in De Beer and later moved to Evaton to live with her grandmother. An avid netball player, she studied drama and appeared on Soul City before meeting Teko at the age of 22.

Gigi PuleGigi Pule

Parys-born Gigi Pule met Tekelo Rantie through social media – striking up a conversation with him because they are both from the same town. Gigi gave birth to their son in the same year she graduated with a degree in Building Sciences – and she is committed to giving her family a "normal" life, away from the luxury that most people perceive soccer stars to be immersed in.

Kat Mohoaduba Kat Mohoaduba

Katlego 'Kat' Mohoaduba (23) was the third runner up in the first season of Big Brother Mzansi and recently dated Kaizer Chiefs player Jimmy Tau. They met during her lunch break when Katlego worked at a bank. She has lately been concentrating on the salon she started with her mother as well as her acting career.

Nonhle Ndala Nonhle Ndala

Nonhle Ndala was raised in Ratanda. She is fluent in Swedish (after living there for a year on an exchange programme). Like her boyfriend Andile Jali, who she met in 2013, Nonhle is a dedicated sportsperson.

She is fitness trainer for the Mzansi Magic show Bootcamp Mzansi - Celebrity Edition. She is passionate about fitness and believes in transforming peoples lives by adding positive value.

Wendy Parker Wendy Parker

Newlands, Durban-born Wendy Parker (31) met Bernard eight years ago when she was a manager at a sports store in Durban. The two have been married since 2011 after Bernard proposed during a trip to Holland. She is a mother to two boys. Wendy is in her second year of BA Law and criminology and believes wholeheartedly in social responsibility.

Diski Divas will reveal the different worlds that Wendy, Katlego, Nonhle, Felicia and Gigi inhabit – different in so many ways yet with similarities that only those who know how to get their hustle on in the world of professional soccer know.

Who will form alliances within the group of five? What does the future hold? What are they all about? Which Diva will find herself on the outside?

Diski Divas is produced by Connect TV, with executive producers Clifford Elk, Basetsana Kumalo and Kopano Gelman. The series producer is Tumi Mosadi and the series director is Thulani Masuku.
