One had a super special on Kwaito last Friday! Super refers to everything EXCEPT the shoes worn by Brown Dash...on NATIONAL TELEVISION nogal!!!!
Andile was looking fabulous as always, damn that Katlego Danke (Dineo in Generations) is a lucky girl (or is he the lucky one? They both are absolutely gorgeous).
They kicked the show off with Zola's Ghetto Fabulous...if I were to judge him based on what he looks like in that video, he would be in my top 5 ugliest people on earth. Some say he had to look that way for his role "Papa Action" on Yizo Yizo II, hayi neh! If that's what getting into character means then I guess Charlize Theron didn't pull it off that well in Monster!
I mean, look at this:
Old man Senyaka was there looking like the old man that he is. Does anyone know someone who actually buys Senyaka's music?
Msawawa is really grown up, he's 15 now but looks more like a 18 year old!
There's a new kid on the block, Lesilo!
He wears a Spiderman Outfit, mask and all and I thought damn, Mzekezeke should claim money from all these followers.
He wore a mask now everybody else seems to be wearing masks! Sgonondo and even one boxer-turned-musician, don't care to remember his name..
MANDOZA must be the SEXIEST kwaito star EVER!!!!!
That man is so looking CLEAN!! He was looking really grand, he perfomed his new track Ngalabezi and boy I honestly didn't hear the song. All I could do was watch this man dance..I admit, I haven't seen anything that sexy in a while!! Mandoza boy, keep it up! We love the look, the muscles, oh what am I saying...we just love Mandoza!!!
Ok, I think I spoke too soon on the Sexiest ever bit because guess who else was there?? Wait for it...drum roll....none other than Malaika's "fourth member", Producer Guffy!!
SA's best Music Producer, according to me and do watch out for Shuga's interview with him soon!!
He was there to promote his up coming album GMP (Guffy My Producer), where he features everybody who's anybody in SA's music industry: Mandoza, Ivani (lookoout for these chaps), Thembisile, Zonke (she sings in Thebe's Groover's anthem), MXO, Brown Dash, Mapaputsi, Massive etc. I can't wait! Apparently it's gonna rock...09 October is the day to look forward to.
He made a point to tell us that he's now married though so sorry ladies!
Chippa seems to be trying very hard to copy Hip Hop Pantsula's look. The only difference is that we love HHP like that but he on the other hand needs to hit the gym coz I ain't feeling that weight thing he's got going on! Ah ah bhuti!!
You know Kwaito ain't Kwaito without TKZEE right? The only TKZee member that was there was Rambo aka Kabelo!
If you saw ONE, you'll understand why I'm calling him Rambo, damn that man is BIG!!
He's obviously been working out pretty hard!
His single DUBULA is rocking!! Summer's biggest hit for sure! You know every song Spikiri touches turns to sold, right?!!
Was so pleased to hear him singing praise to all the kwaito big guns instead of himself! For a change. Grown up stuff, we love! Well done Bouga!
After Kabelo's mega performance came Brown Dash with a disturbing sight!
I was about to ignore the casual kwaito look he had going but damn the camera man had to keep fixing the camera on those ugly ass shoes!
Now, there is nothing wrong with farmers but there is everything wrong with a kwaito star looking like a farmer!
He was wearing a pair of shoes that used to be brown in its hey-day and I was upset! Somebody hook this brother up with a stylist asap... These artists need to realize that they need to sell themselves as brands for us to take them seriously and that starts with the image.
Starts with the image and then a good product needs to follow...
Somebody who understands the second bit of that statement is Brickz coz he performed an awesome song to close the show! The jury is still out on the image bit! Though he did look kinda cute at the SAMA's earlier this year.
Other videos played during the show were from MaWillies, Sash (in a DJ Sbu inspired outfit), Mdu, Ouda Meesta, Alaska, Andile with Abuti Yo, remember that song? Skeem, Mapaputsi, Doc Shebeleza, Mshoza and Trompies took us way back..
Speaking of Trompies, I was very disgusted with some journalists in local newspapers writing the way they did about Spikiri. They keep hinting at how much he's lost weight and are asking "where are you disappearing to?" , "what's eating you " and other crap like that! Is that insensitive or what?
If the man is losing weight because he is sick, why do we have to be so ugly about it? Hope you get well soon Spikiri.
