The third season of newsroom drama
Hard Copy took over as the top-rated South African show on TVSA in December, replacing
Temptation South Africa as the show TVSA viewers believe is the best local production on television.
Temptation is still the highest-rated South African show overall, but having ended in November it was not considered for the December ratings.
Other shows to drop out of the Top 10 in December were
Healing Power Of Nature,
Survivor South Africa: Panama and
The Cut: South Africa, all of which also ended in November.
Hard Copy premiered in September but didn't have the minimum required number of ratings to be considered for the Top 10 until December.
The show is made by Curious Pictures, who previously scored a number one in the TVSA Top 10 SA Shows with
The Lab.
As a result of the shows that dropped out of the Top 10, four new shows made the list in December: Hard Copy,
Carte Blanche,
Egoli and
Isidingo.
It is important to note that the ratings for these shows don't necessarily reflect their popularity in terms of viewing figures - they represent the shows that TVSA readers believe to be the best on television.

Rome continues to be the top-rated show overall on TVSA as it was still airing on M-Net Series in December.
The Top 10 Shows Overall had a radical shake-up in December as seven shows that ended in November were removed from the list.
The vampire thriller
Blade: The Series premiered on actionX on 28 November and quickly received enough positive ratings to catapult it into the Top 10 list in 2nd place.
Another new show - the American version of the British comedy
The Office, which is currently airing on M-Net - debuted on the list in 5th.
The third season of firefighting drama
Rescue Me scored positive ratings, as did M-Net's sci-fi thriller
Invasion.

Kiefer Sutherland climbed a place into 2nd following some negative ratings for the actor he replaced, Lost's
Dominic Monaghan.
