I see the SABC1 news dropped by about a million viewers under week review. Must be due to the holidays I presume. SABC2 news lost big time in terms of numbers.

TVSA: Clarify something here for me please
What is the difference between the Top talk shows and the Top actuality shows? Aren’t the themes the same? Shouldn’t they be grouped together or is it because 2009 is election time?

In terms of the debates that they are having every Sunday on SABC2, how many viewership watches that show. I forgot the name somebody please help.

>>What is the difference between the Top talk shows and the Top actuality shows? Aren’t the themes the same?<<

Not really.  Actuality shows generally deal with current events/issues while talk shows are interviews with guests, usually in front of a live audience.

While talk shows can deal with current events and actuality shows can feature interviews, they have different focuses.  Actuality shows aim to inform viewers, while talk shows' lean more towards entertaining them.  Compare Oprah and Special Assignment - the two shows are very different.
