M-Net is looking for an original reality show format to be broadcast in 2010 and has put out the following brief for it:

Genre: Family
Language: English
Duration: 48 minutes
Number of episodes: 13
Scheduling: Broadcast date 2010
Budget: Dependent on the scope of the project
What We Want:A fresh and original take on the reality concept that creates characters from “real life” people which the M-Net audience can identify and bond with.
The format must create a platform for these characters to develop and show both their light and dark sides. The format must be driven by situations which create competition, conflict and allow for a wide scope of emotional reactions.
Most importantly, this show should be “must see” entertainment for the M-Net prime-time audience.
What We Don’t Want:No cheap imitations of existing formats.
Target market:The show is aimed at the upper LSM; and needs to be appealing across the board.
Requirements:The proposals must contain the following information:
1. Synopsis of concept
2. Detailed breakdown of the concept & the selection process for it
3. Breakdown of the series structure and how the final winner will be selected
4. Preliminary budget
