To coincide with Madiba's 92nd birthday this month - coming up this Sunday (18 July) - the History Channel premieres a new tribute documentary next week Friday, 23 July 2010 at 20h30.
Titled Playing The Enemy, the documentary tells the story of events surrounding the 1995 Rugby World Cup and explores how Nelson Mandela used the event to spark South Africa's journey towards healing.
The show uses the Clint Eastwood movie Invictus as a springboard into the story: emphasizing the significance of the event in history, with a focus on how Nelson Mandela and Francois Pienaar joined forces despite everything that had kept them apart previously.
The documentary runs 55 minutes and will be repeated on Saturday, 24 July 2010 at 04h30 and 12h30.
The History Channel is on DStv Channel 254.
