MORNING LIVE NEW STUDIO MOVE CONFIRMED
SABC2 and SABC News announces that Morning Live will move to the new high-tech studio this Monday, 16 July. The studio is situated in the SABC TV Building.
There seems to be a thread that links the success of the Morning Live phenomenon, it’s credible and informative content, its charismatic presenters that deliver it and its viewers who watch it. It’s a thread that has stood simply in defining what it is to be proudly ‘South African’.
With this 12th year milestone comes exciting innovations for the show:
• Firstly, Morning Live welcomed a renowned TV anchor, Peter Ndoro, who joined our hosts Vuyo Mbuli and Leanne Manas as the business anchor in November last year.
• As part of the adjustments, Weekend Live will also migrate to Morning Live, combining resources and expertise to create a seamless, quality driven, seven days a week breakfast show. Weekend Live will operate under the brand name Morning Live.
• All the regular news updates: The Weather Reports, Commuter News, Sport and Business News will still form part of the daily broadcast with added focus on outside broadcasts from locations across the country as well as regular live regional crossings.
The revamped seven days a week Morning Live will deliver news as it happens, while still providing our loyal viewers with “Everything you need to know before you go”.
Morning Live first went on air on the 1st November 1999, presented by the then SAFM talk-show host Vuyo Mbuli and media personality Tracy Going. 3 years later, SABC’s business news anchor, Leanne Manas teamed up with Mbuli replacing Tracy in 2002.
Over the years, Morning Live had the opportunity to interview influential leaders and cheerleaders for change including South Africa’s first democratic president Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Academy® Award winner Morgan Freeman, Lionel Richie, Civil Rights Activist, Reverend Jesse Jackson and the late Nkosi Johnson.
Ultimately, Morning Live has continued to keep the nation informed on breaking news stories, national issues affecting ordinary South Africans as well as entertaining the nation.
The faces of Morning Live are:

• Vuyo Mbuli
• Leanne Manas
• Peter Ndoro

As it looks on to achieve bigger milestones ahead, the SABC applauds the show’s greatest strength to remain relevant to its viewers and the nation at large. Here’s to another 12 years of greatness.
