After one of
the most extensive breaks in the history of any show,
Strictly Come Dancing is back. Yip!
The schleb-twirling series returns to our screens on Wednesday, 10 July at 20h00 for Season 6. Not on SABC2 though. The show's doing a channel hop to SABC3 who've been in need of a local reality show for years.
The last time we saw celebs tackling the dance floor was at the end of 2008 when Season 5 wrapped with a win by comedian
Rob van Vuuren and his zippy dancing partner
Mary Martin - who was more charming than most of the celebs.
Other previous winners include
Emmanuel Castis,
HHP,
Riaan Nutsman and
Zuraida Jardine, who won Season 1.
Production company Rapid Blue have been signed to produce the series again and hush-hush meetings are currently going on (on Thursdays apparently) to make the final decisions on who'll be judging, hosting and competing.
Previous seasons were hosted by
Sandy Ehrenreich and
Ian von Memerty so it seems very unlikely that they'll be back, particularly Ian who's judging on
SA's Got Talent on e.tv round about the same time.
As for who the contestants should be ... which celeb twinkletoes would you like to see?
