Sibahle Tshibika talks about kidnap threats

Sibahle

I've just caught a Channel 24 video with So You Think You Can Dance 3 winner Sibahle Tshibika chatting about the kidnap threats against her after her win on Saturday night and I reckoned you'd be keen on seeing it too.

Here's a link to it: TV star talks to Channel24 about kidnap threats.

As you'll see, it looks like the interviewer's terrified that the kidnappers followed Sibahle to the studio.

It's a crazy situation isn't it? Is this going to be a new trend now that reality winner's get threatened? What's going to happen when winners win more?

It could be that it's actually a case of once-off stalking and that she's been stalked for the cash.

I've been wondering about what I'd do if I were in her situation ... one can hide, but then you'd have to hide forever and that would be impossible. Of course the police need to catch the thugs but that's like saying it needs to snow on the equator.  How long will she have to hide for? Even if she were to say that the money's spent - in the future - the kidnappers wouldn't believe her.

If you were Sibahle what would you do?

I read in News24 during the week that her granny died of shock/heart attack shortly after Sibahle was crowned Mzantsi's best dancer and now this..

Yes, she's been through a terrible time. This statement from SABC1 about her grandmother:

"SABC1 takes this opportunity to officially congratulate Sibahle Tshibika for being announced the winner of the 3rd season of So You Think You Can Dance, and laying claim to the R250 000 prize money and the title of South Africa’s most talented dancer. We warmly welcome her as the newest member into the SABC1 Mzansi Fo Sho Family. However, we are also deeply saddened at the news of the sudden passing away of her grandmother and offer our heartfelt condolences to Sibahle and family. We wish her well in her future endeavours.”

An update! Sibahle and her family have been moved to Jozi and the police have been brought in. Word from the show is that they're placing the money in a trust for her so that she doesn't physically have it in her possession.

Oh poor child, how can people be so cruel.  I wish people could get it into their thick skulls that one has to work hard to live a better life.

Wish her all the best, she deserves every good that is going to happen in her life coz she has been through enough already.
