In 2011, these girls have been hard at work doing what they love most. However, as they do their jobs, they have to pop in at social events every now and again. They do their absolute best to ensure they get some sort of attention from the media not only by being friendly but by taking an affort in the wardrobe department as well. We take a look at top 10 girls who ruled the red carpet in 2011.

This article should be read in conjuction with: Top10 stylish guys of 2011: Smart & Dapper

10. Terry Pheto

Terry Pheto

We agree the ball dress she wore back in 2006 at the Academy Awards was not the dress of the decade. Fast forward 2011 Terry has added style and galmour to her fashion taste. We are not sure if this has to do with the fact that now she has gay friends who are her stylists when she's back in SA. Terry commands glamour on the streets of Hollywood today with a recurring role in  The Bold and The Beautiful. Her beauty grows each day and she's now even more confident when filming close ups for The Bold.

9. Lelo Boyana

Lelo Boyana

Because I am not doing an article on weaves, I will just include her here. This is not to say the celebrity blogger aint doing well in the wardrobe department. Lelo always struts her things on the red carpet and for a few occasions that I've managed to spot her at social events, she looks forever refreshed and her dress code right on point. As a celeb critic of some sort, Lelo aka Brown Shugga, who cut her blogging tooth on TVSA, sure knows how to command style. We forgive her for the rumours about Lulo Cafe and some some soccer player because in all honesty, I wouldn't mind to end up on Lelo's bed. Just looking at her walk down the red carpet is good/bad enough for me to drop my camera in awe of her.

8. Lira Kohl

Lira Kohl

At the brink of an international stardom, Lira forever represents SA well when abroad. She doesn't compromise on her Afro-chic with a Western touch look. Lira is on of the very few artists who travel around the globe taking our music abroad and never compromises on her constumes when performing. Her hair is forever clean proving girls can still look great in their traditional hair. Her flawless skin make us question why these facial comestic companies ignore ger beauty.

7. Joelle Kayembe

Joelle

Quite rare in the social scene, Joelle still has what it takes despite allegations of abrotion by her ex-fiance. Suffice to say, Joelle still holds down her modelling career albeit all the talk that went down last year. And she is not only stylish when in her clothes, she still rocks it in her birthday suite. That Sprite advert on TV will forever stay in our minds and I wouldn't mind kissing her anytime. Though Joelle is Congolese, she is South African by default.

6. Lalla Hirayama

Lalla Hirayama babe

She exudes style and class. Lalla isn't particularly known for matching her outfits with everything that she wears but her smile and confidence can easily convince you to forgive her. Lalla looks stunning in anything that she covers her body with and that well-trimmed figure of hers needs to be let lose on a Durban beach with Makisto for dayzzzzzz.

5. Nthabiseng Mphahlele

Nthabiseng Mphahlele

Muvhango's Meiki is forever well dressed. Sometimes in mini dresses that send me to dreamland during 21:00. Her jeans are equally seducing and we wanna applaud whoever chooses clothes for her character. I do know that actress Nthabiseng has some of Meiki's clothes at home. Nthabiseng is always eloquently dressed. Be it when she visits friends or on the red carpet, she always knows her story.

4. Kim Engelbrecht

Kim Engelbrecht

We just have to start by saying though Kim needs to ltake a few style tips from Lolly in Isidingo, Kim does pull an electrifying look whenever she feels like it. Her looks do great justice to her in any attire. Those lips of hers and seductive voice is good enough to make any guy come buckets. Whenever I watch Isidingo, all I wanna see is Lolly. That body of hers needs to be taught things by Makisto. Kim sure knows her style and we are glad she dresses well.

3. Uyanda Mbuli

Uyanda Mbuli

She may not be your favourite socialite but girl has class and taste, thanks to her Diamond Face Couture. Uyanda is one of the rare ladies on the social scene who prove that girls don't need a gay friend cum stylist to look hot at each and every single event. Uyanda is forever on point with her dress sense. Be it pants or a dress, Uyanda will show you how to pull it. She dazzles all the time on the red carpert and with my interactions with her on the red carpert as a photo-journalist, I am forever humbled by her friendliness and smile.

2. Sashi Naidoo

Sashi Naidoo

Whether she is on her way to a modelling job or featuring on TV, Sashi is always elegant. Her lips are forever seductive and always make me crave for kissing her. Sashi has been on the cover of the FHM magazine I don't know how many times. Whether she is dressed in jeans or evening wear, Sashi is sure to command attention not only because of her great looks but because of her dress sense too.

1. Bonang Matheba

B

And now, let's hear it for the Queen of all Media and unrivalled Best Dressed Female Socialite as per Feather Awards 2011. As Tazteeq puts it, Bonang can wear egg-shells and still pull it off. A lot has been said about her style, what more is there to say?

Hau batho sesi 'aka, please do comment about the other girls. By doing so, you will state your reasons by Bonang doesn't deserve the number 1 spot and some bloggers may agree with you. ROTFL @ you analysing my writing. Thanks GA for all commending my writing. I'm only trying hey. Please do give your opinions GA, lol

Ya neh, as much as I am neither pro or anti Bonang, I must admit that Gert sure knows how to cover this girl in the most amazing dresses. She is always on point, and just can't fault her for anything. Even her shoes and make up add so much more to her style. From your list, I am missing Claire Mawisa, she does it for me. Ausi Uyanda also dresses amazingly, and to think she is the one that designs her clothes makes her extra special. She knows too well what works for her body.

True Nice, Gert is perfecting his job. Bonang must be one of the luckiest girls to have a designer who sure knows his thing. Claire Mawisa doesn't do it for me. It must be those dirty dreadlocks of hers in horrible colours that me off. *hides*

Lol, I knew Taz would like his childhood sweetheart Uyanda. Well, I did think about Minnie but it was you Taz who said she shares her lip stick with her friends nje *hides*

Lol at makisto wanting to kiss every girl in the list. I bet if Maggie Benedict (Akhona on Generations) was on the list it would be another story...

makisto

Kwaaaaaaaa @ The General, Maggie is a great actress but her warddrobe on the red carpet aint ayoba. For the few times that I spotted her at events, she didn't look snazzy. If she wanted to kiss me I would run away *hides* Re: Kissing every girl on this list: I love beautiful women!

I wouldn't agree but I would welcome a definition of chauvinism and ask you to point out examples from the article.

A woman's style is defined by her body and nna I love beautiful women for dayzzzzzzzzz

I am still trying to get my head around how Nona Gasi is not in a list where Terry made it. Lelo's smile makes her look stylish and i am sure it does not matter whether she is dressed or not.
Lira does it for me. She has got style and i feel it.
At least a stylish woman without those silly weaves.

maddie

Lira does it 4 me, any woman who can pull a stylish look with natural hair and less make up deserves to be recognised and she's got a nice firm body,.

I wld luv 2 c Bonang, Lelo (i dig her but i think ke yellow bones), Uyanda, Terry with no weaves

mbulela

It must be those dirty dreadlocks of hers in horrible colours that me off. *hides*

Make sure you hide very well.
Who still calls it locks in this 21st century?there is nothing dreadful about locks.
Claire is effortlessly sexy. Not one of the best dressed but she is a looker for days with a natural looks.

@favoured

ppl who r considered beautiful by the mere fact ya gore they're light-skinned that if u were to give them a darker shade u'll think otherwise, so many of 'em in celebville, Sonia Sedibe, Dineo Moeketsi, Primrose Crous et al

babye2
28 Nov 2011 12:18

LOL at yellow bones

may you kindly remove Uyanda from that list. the mere fact that she tries extremely hard to look better shows that she is not satisfied with her own natural skin and if you are not, how can one be
