A reminder that the Afrikaans News returns to SABC2 this Monday (3 November). Here are the details from an article we first published on 22 September when the change was first confirmed:
Back!
In November the Afrikaans News will be back on SABC2 following a public outcry about it's move to SABC3.
The news moved to SABC3
after the World Cup this year and was met by an explosion of complaints from Afrikaans speaking viewers. The SABC has confirmed that the return to SABC2 is a direct result of these complaints.
Viewers have also been asking for the SeSotho/Setswana News to be on earlier so it's moving from 20h30 to 19h30.
These changes mean that various SABC2 shows will change time. Here's an overview of the changes and final schedule - all of which take effect from Monday, 3 November:
New daily schedule:
17:30: Shangaan and Venda News (broadcast on an alternate basis)
18:30: 7de Laan
19:00: Afrikaans Nuus
19:30: SeSotho and Setswana News
Changing times:
Mooiloop moves to Thursdays 20:00
What’s Behind The Wall (Mondays-Tuesdays 20:30)
Ba kae (Wednesday-Thursdays 20:30)
90 Plein Street (Wednesdays 21:30)
Interface (moves to Sundays 20:30)
