Press Release

The Queen Latifah Show premieres on e.tv
TX: Premieres on Monday, 13 October and airs weekdays at 4:30PM on e.tv

Notorious rapper, actor, singer turned talk show host Queen Latifah makes her debut on the e.tv screens for the second season of The Queen Latifah show on Monday, 13 October at 4:30PM on e.tv.

The calibre of the stars that Latifah chats with this season includes stars that rarely do frank interviews. Guests include: Reese Witherspoon, Toni Braxton, Denzel Washington, Snoop Dogg, Jada Pinkett Smith (the show’s executive producer), Goldie Hawn, Sharon Osbourne, RuPaul, Patti LaBelle, Andrè 3000, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood and Cicely Tyson, Boris Kodjoe and Tyson Beckford.

The Queen Latifah Show is a daytime talk-variety series, a multi-topic show that features a mix of A-list celebrities, real people with inspiring stories, buzz worthy musical acts and Latifah’s unique - often comedic - take on pop culture. Additionally, she ventures out into communities across the country to capture compelling stories, celebrate exceptional individuals and deliver life-changing surprises.

“This show is truly the embodiment of my journey,” says Queen Latifah. “Nothing makes me happier than to have the opportunity to share my experience with others and give people a chance to realize their dreams. For those viewers who have been with us from the beginning and those who may be tuning in for the first time, season two of The Queen Latifah Show is going to deliver some great surprises and a whole lot of feel-good fun.”

Monde Twala, Managing Director for the e.tv Channels Division says, “We are excited about the addition of the Queen Latifah Show to our schedule. e.tv continues to be the entertainment destination of choice for the best in local and international programming. The show will air within weeks after the US broadcast which is a rare achievement by a local free-to-air broadcaster,” he enthused.

The show is produced by Flavor Unit Entertainment, a production company owned and operated by Queen Latifah and her partner Shakim Compere.  Flavor Unit Entertainment is quickly establishing itself as one of the most important production companies in the film industry. They produced box office # 1 hit Bringing Down the House, and then continued with Beauty Shop and The Perfect Holiday, a flick Latifah starred in as well as Just Wright, a movie airing on e.tv this weekend.

Interesting facts about the show:
  • Jada Pinkett Smith is the show’s executive producer
  • The set is desgined by rocker Lenny Kravitz
“It’s a thrill to be designing the set for The Queen Latifah Show. The set reflects Latifah’s personality and spirit and will be an inviting, comfortable space for her guests, studio audience and viewers. I never thought of designing for television but, I suppose growing up in a TV studio watching my mother has come full circle,” enthused Kravitz.
