Hear Me Move premiered last Tuesday at the new Newtown Mall to a huge attendance by media, soapie stars and TV personalities. The sassy and vibey production backed up by some of the biggest brands is sure going to blow up many dance-loving South Africans.
Starring newcomers, Nyaniso Dzedze and Bontle Modiselle, the film also features a lot of big stars in the acting game such as cameos by Khanyi Mbau, Thembi Seete and Boity Thulo. But it's the new youngsters that are giving shine throughout the film.
Leading lady Bontle Modiselle (she gives me Refiloe Madumo vibes) – Beautiful girl (She is actually Albino Model Refiloe Modiselle's sister)
What I enjoyed most about this film is the fact that the dance genres that took centre stage were proudly South African, hopefully more and more productions of this nature are funded and produced with a strictly South African content and totally no skew into the American counterparts whatsoever.
It was refreshing to see that even though the storyline was a bit of a cliché, the dancing (which was what the movie was about) highlighted the greatest of Mzansi’s unique and diverse art.
