First look: M.Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines - coming to FOX
Press Release
Waking up disheveled and confused in a strange town; Agent Ethan Burke is on a mission. He is on a search for two missing Secret Service agents and soon realises everything is not as it seems in the little town he’s found himself in.
He receives an ominous call from someone insisting he kill the man in front of him. Other bizarre instructions, from his once missing secret service colleague, include “Do not try to leave,” “Do not discuss the past” and “Always answer the phone if it rings” - Ethan has no clue what lies ahead.
And so begins executive producer and director M.Night Shyamalan’s (The Sixth Sense and The Village) new series based on the novel Pines by Blake Crouch.
The show stars Matt Dillon (There’s Something About Mary and You, Me and Dupree) in the lead as Agent Ethan Burke and is accompanied by co-stars Carla Gugino (Night at the Museum and Sin City) as Secret Service Agent Kate Hewson, Melissa Leo (Mildred Pierce, Oblivion) as nurse Pam, Juliette Lewis (August: Osage County and Due Date) as Beverley and Terrence Howard (Empire and The Best Man Holiday) as Sheriff Pope.
The global debut on 14 May on FOX at 21:00 (DStv Channel 125 and StarSat Channel 131), means exciting news for FOX fans as the show will premiere the same day as the U.S.
Author Blake has also contributed to the series by writing a few of the episodes and has said he couldn’t be happier with the cast and the outcome and the show promises to be 10 weeks of a mind-bending thriller. And fans are about to find out that the truth is worse than anything you could ever imagine.
