THREE NEW SHOWS THIS NOVEMBER ON DUMISA TV
Three news shows will be launching on Dumisa TV (DStv Channel 340) this November. The new shows will air from Monday 02 November, 2015.
Among the new shows is
Amahubo, a music series that features South African gospel musicians. The artists share their background and favourite Psalms, before giving a rousing live performance.
Each episode - on every Monday night at 18h00 - features three different artists who perform the same hymn, with their own flair. Amahubo will be hosted by industry favourite Winnie Mashaba, who is a decorated gospel singer.
Dumisa TV Channel Manager Kepsy Mosala says, “We’re so delighted to have Winnie Mashaba join the Dumisa TV team, as a presenter. Her extensive accolades include a Kora Africa Music Award, a South African Music Awards nomination, winning the ONE Gospel Best Song of the Year award and scooping awards at the Crown Gospel Awards and Metro FM Music Awards.”
Another new show is
Leeto, a documentary-style show that tells the history of choirs, every Friday at 18h00, debuting 06 November. The documentary gives insight into how various choirs were established and how they’ve managed to survive in the competitive music industry. Leeto investigates the story behind the likes of ‘clap and tap’, ‘umculu we sidodana’, Zion music and ‘iskhalanga’.
Ubuntu, every Wednesday at 18h00, seeks to uncover community heroes who make a difference in other people lives. The show is hosted by Patience Nzimande and gives ordinary people a platform to showcase how they can positively impact their communities. Kepsy Mosala says, “Dumisa TV hopes that
Ubuntu will inspire and also empower viewers to change their own communities through acts of kindness.”
