Special notes

Telkom Cup knocks out the soapies as Mamelodi topples the Chiefs

Due to the Telkom Knockout Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday 16 December, the soapies were pushed later on SABC1, leading to large drops for both Generations and Uzalo, skewing their average numbers for the week.

Muvhango also suffered a large drop on this night, largely because viewers tuned into the later broadcast of Generations at the same time. A similar fate befell Rhythm City and Scandal! on e.tv, which both had huge drops that night.

Channels in this post: SABC1, SABC2, SABC3, e.tv, Mzansi Magic, M-Net

Considering it was the festive season I am not surprised tha most shows took a knock in the ratings .muvhango is now at least consistent in tha 5mil mark . Tvsa I hear The Road on msansi magic has being canned .it will come to an end in March .how come isidingo is still surviving the chop even though their ratings are dropping every week .what makes a channel come to a decision to can a show ???surely it was the ratings isidingo would have ended a year ago already ...

Its too bad about The Road, they killed that Zwelakhe character way too soon.  Themba Ndaba is holding it down as Silas, I hope he doesn't get killed anytime soon.

Time-slot and the senseless show-in-a-show storyline became detrimental. Pity it had potential to be a top show.
