Everyone always wonders what goes on in small towns and what undiscovered talent there might be in out-of-the-spotlight places.
Now, a new SABC2 series takes us into the heart of smallville to find hidden talent in the channel's new reality show Showville.
It premieres on Saturday, 6 February at 19h30 and it's based on the international format of the same name, created by AMC (creators of Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead).
It follows two hosts/coaches who move from town to town unearthing talent in a reality search that ends with a flashy final performance in each place.
Our coaches:
comedian and actor Rob van Vuuren and dancer and actress Bontle Modiselle.
Each episode features Rob and Bontle in a different town where they spend three days hosting auditions and exploring the area.
On the first day they host open auditions for everyone from the town. At the end the day they choose their favourites - the four acts they feel will put on the best show for the town.
They spend Day 2 mentoring the acts, preparing them for their final performance which happens on Day 3. The finalists perform at a well known town venue and the audience (townspeople, family, friends etc.) vote for their favourite act who wins R10,000 and a Showville trophy.
