Kgomotso Christopher exits Isidingo, leaves Lincoln "tortured"

If you're a Katlego Sibeko fan, grab yourself a drink, tissue, cuddle bunny or whatever you're going to need to make it through this news...

Isidingo star Kgomotso Christopher has been struck by a case of soapie cabin fever and will be bowing out of the show after five years of playing Katlego. She joined Isidingo in 2011 with Linda Sokhulu, Letoya Makhene and Vusi Kunene when the Sibeko family first arrived in Horizon Deep.

She's decided to call it quitsville on the role in order to free herself up to pursue other acting roles, which is difficult - if not impossible - when you're on a soapie full-time. Her exit has been planned for some time but the news has been kept on the downlow until close to her departure.

She'll be playing out her last scene on Wednesday, 13 April and she's going to leave Lincoln tortured. Katlego and Lincoln's feud will reach a climactic end that turns deadly.

We got our clutches on an early draft of the April teasers and this line is in them:

"Lincoln is still tortured by Katlego's death, nothing is helping."

What isn't clear is if she's really dead or if she pretends to be so she can be free of him because there's a lot of talk about her wanting to escape in the latest teasers. She's either going to get away or not. Either way she's leaving the show for good and definitely won't be back.

RIP Katlego.

PS: A shoutout to those who've been asking about why the April teasers are so similar to the March ones. We suspect it's because the action was extended to April i.e. things that were intially going to happen in March are happening in April instead.

Isidingo Mara with killing characters! The concept of this story line (Katlego's exit) is good big ups to the writers. Everyday we see couples fighting for the custody of their kids. The writers messed the concept with this abuse and turning Lincoln into a monster. Katlego's exit storyline is not creative and not authentic. Let's take it back from her pregnancy. How did she heal her hostile womb? "Lincoln falls strongly inlove with Angelique he promise to marry her after five years when he divorces Katlego now he want Angelique's baby, another son who will lead the Sibeko empire one day. Katlego finds out about Lincoln and Angelique's plans we know she's evil she will never let that go without a fight. She quickly leaves the Deep and go to London to heal her hostile womb. She comes back to South Africa, she drugs Lincoln and seduce him. She also drugs Angie with a strong drug that will stop her from falling pregnant. Boom Katlego is pregnant with Lincoln's baby instead of Angelique. Angelique finds out and goes straight to Jean Mearc. Months later, Angelique and Jean Mearc decides to take their relationship to the next level. They want a baby. Angie goes to her gynae. Unfortunately she can't have kids. The drug that Katlego used destroyed Angie's chances of having babies. Angelique can't remember taking any medication. A letter arrives in the Sibeko penthouse from Katlego's doctor overseas, their process was successful, congratulating Lincoln and Katlego will deliver a healthy baby. Lincoln finds the letter and confronts Katlego. "Remember Katlego lied and said the baby is a miracle. Lincoln doesn't know Katlego went to London to heal her hostile womb". Zukisa finds the drug that Katlego used to stop Angie from falling pregnant. Angelique puts 2 and 2 together, she finds the truth and tells Lincoln about what Katlego did. Angelique goes to the police, Katlego tries to escape but they caught her just in time. She gives birth before time, after the birth of Siphosethu she prepares for her court case and Nina Zamdela is her only ally. They asked Zukisa to testify against Katlego. At first it seems Katlego is winning the case. She hired good lawyers but Nina messed things up when she turned her back on Katlego and put her right into the mud. The judge fnd Katlego guilty!!! Katlego tries another option, she changes her identity and escape before her sentence/ going to jail leaving baby Siphosethu with Angelique and Lincoln. Then that's how she leaves Isidingo. "Her dramatic exit" Not this boring abuse and death.

Very unfortunate to loose another lead character after Frank and Priya. I guess it doesn't rain but pours. The soap has been battered for years and some say it is beyond repair but I remain optimistic. There's a new head writer and change in producer. So hopefully the iconic soap shall redeem itself.

So Rohan Dickson will be Executive Producer and Headwriter .I don't knw how I feel about this .to me the guy has not brought anything exciting or real drama as they call it to the show .isidingo is still all over the place .but we shall wait and see the changes he will bring as EC of the show .

My point exactly Max, why didn't they bring in the original creators of Isidingo to turn things around Mitzi Booysen and Neil McCarthy as show runners. I have nothing against Rohan I think he failed to deliver best stories, Sizwe and Zukisa have been around for too long but he failed to give them original/authentic stories of working class people that will challenge them like the Ngema's on Scandal, Khuse's on Rhythm City. Zukisa is suppose to call Sizwe as "tata ka Khanyiso or by his clan name" not by his first name "Sizwe".
