She's gone from LIVE Amp to MTV Africa to a headline-worthy role in America - within the space four months!

South Africa's Pearl Thusi made international headlines this week by scooping a series regular role on the American thriller Quantico, which airs on ABC, one of the four major US networks. It airs on DStv's Vuzu and Vuzu Amp in South Africa.

The news was confirmed on Hollywood website Deadline.com after series star Priyanka Chopra (Alex) posted Instagram pics of Pearl living it up with the Quantico cast over supper and script reading.

Pearl's burst onto the international scene has been spearheaded by the fact that she has representation at the international agency Generate who complement her local agency Capacity Relations.

According to Deadline, she'll be playing the role of Dayana Mampasi, described as "a driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer. After graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in."

The series premieres on ABC on 25 September. We'll keep you posted when the South African premiere date has been confirmed.

For more about the series, see TVSA's Show Page here: Quantico.
