eExtra starts the new year with a double bill premiere of dubbed Afrikaans novelas on Monday, 6 January 2020.
Bittersoet returns for Season 2 in the 20h00 timeslot and new series Doodsondes debuts at 19h00. Both air Mondays to Fridays.
Doodsondes is also a Turkish novela - originally titled Yasak Elma in Turkish and Forbidden Fruit in English - and it's described as a romantic drama.
The story centres round two sisters: Yildiz (played by Eda Ece) and Zeynep (Sevda Erginci) who embark on different life journeys, only to end up on the same path without realising it.
Yildiz
Yildiz gets swept into a radical new life when she meets the queen of high society: Ender Argun (played by Sevval Sam)...
Ender
Ender is a social butterfly, addicted to money and power. When she was younger she caught the eye of a flirtatious, married, billionaire, businessman Halit Argun (Talat Bulut).
She used her feminine charms to get the life she had dreamed of for years and clinched him when she fell pregnant.
Ender decides to use Yildiz to get rid of her husband and makes Yildiz a life changing offer.
Zeynep
The company that Zeynep works for is bought by arrogant, ruthless and rich businessman Alihan Tasdemir (Onur Tuna).
Zeynep falls for Alihan not knowing that he's Halit’s business partner and Ender’s brother.
Yildiz's decision will affect not only herself but also Zeynep.
