Two and a Half Men 2

Charlie, Alan and Jake return for a second season of whackily negotiating women, sex, divorce, mothers, single parenthood, siblings, surrogate families, money and most importantly, love.

In the first season Charlie's idyllic, flashy life of fast cars and sexy women was turned upside down when his brother Alan moved in to live with him after his divorce, bringing his ten-year-old son Jake with.

What followed was a clash of personalities when relaxed Charlie had to contend with neurotic obsessive-compulsive Alan, all the while trying to remember that they have an impressionable ten-year old in their midst.

In this second season they're back driving each other more crazy as are their friends and family who complicate their situation further.

There's Charlie's and Alan's narcissistic, emotionally toxic mother, Evelyn; Alan's deeply neurotic ex-wife, Judith; and Charlie's domineering, unapologetically blue-collar housekeeper, Berta.

There's also Rose, a brilliantly manipulative and vaguely mad neighbour who had a brief fling with Charlie, is obsessed with him, and is determined to stay in his life by whatever means necessary.

Despite the complexities of their lives and Charlie and Alan's strained relationship, the two brothers have one thing in common - they both love Jake and want what's best for him.

As a result, they manage to create a family unit that promises to make each one of them a better man.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Back Off, Mary Poppins": When Alan discovers that Charlie is a member of an exclusive men's support group, he begs his brother to let him join.

Alan's feelings are hurt when Charlie asks him to stay out of the house while he has his buddies over.

He's further rejected when he learns that his old friends aren't available because they're all at his ex-wife Judith's house for a get-together.

Charlie's stalker, Rose, attempts to cheer up lonely, brooding Alan, but only an invitation to join Charlie's elite male support group will make him feel better.

Sean Penn, Elvis Costello and Harry Dean Stanton guest star as Charlie's buddies.

In the second episode of the weekly double bill, "Enjoy Those Garlic Balls": Alan overzealously tries to push Judith's new relationship to the next level after Charlie mentions that he'll be off the hook for alimony if Judith remarries.

Ryan Stiles (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) guest stars as Judith's new beau, Dr. Peter Melnick.

Alan is upset when he stops by his old house to drop off Judith's alimony payment and is greeted by Jake's pediatrician - in a bathrobe.

Later, when Charlie optimistically points out that if this guy marries Judith, Alan will no longer have to pay her alimony, he goes full throttle trying to rush their relationship along.
