DStv's two new ESPN channels: all your questions answered

DStv and The Walt Disney Company Africa have announced the return of sports entertainment stable ESPN after a seven year break on the platform.

ESPN and ESPN Classic were yanked from DStv in July 2013 and now ESPN's back, along with ESPN2 instead of Classic.

What is ESPN?

In Africa, ESPN and ESPN2 feature these sports:

- NBA (National Basketball Association)
- NFL (National Football League)
- NHL (National Hockey League)
- MLB (Major League Baseball)
- MLS (Major League Soccer)
- Live football leagues including the Dutch Eredivisie, the English Football League and the Scottish Premier League.

Both channels air 24/7 and also feature a variety of news, studio and documentary programming.

What is the difference between ESPN and ESPN2?

ESPN 2 will feature the latest from America’s top sporting leagues such as the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB.

ESPN will feature live matches and programming from a number of European and African football leagues, matches, stars and athletes.

Both channels will feature news, studio and documentary programming.

Will matches, programmes and other ESPN content be available on Catch Up?

- Repeats of matches will not be available on Catch Up.
