Coming up on
Suidooster tonight (Thursday 21 March):
Melanie Du Bois as Pam October in a culmination of Ian's storyline, described by the production like so:
Ian October (Abduraghman Adams) last appeared in the series in 2019. Adams, from the original Suidooster cast, left the soapie about five years ago when his character ended up in a coma.
Viewers may recall Ian suffered a stroke during an operation after he was seriously injured when his wife, Bridgette (Denise Newman), accidentally pushed him down the stairs in the middle of an argument.
Recently, Ian's fragile health took a turn for the worse in the clinic where he was treated. Bridgett, by now divorced from Ian and back to her maiden name (Jacobs), instructed the clinic to switch off his life support system.
Wilmer Müller, Suidooster’s publicity manager, reveals Ian’s death is the beginning of a new suspenseful storyline full of “typical soapie drama”.
“The ghost of Ian October is already up to no good. And he is going to rule from the grave,” he says.
“It kicks off when the seasoned soapie actress Melanie Du Bois appears as Ian’s sister-in-law, Pam October.
According to Melanie, Pam is coming to Ruiterbosch for “money and a few drinks”.
“She loves a good party, and she’s definitely not someone you can step on. She’ll do anything for money,” she says.
“She is hopeful her brother-in-law left her something in his will... If not, she will make damn sure she gets it from her child or the pompous Bridgette Jacobs.
“Pam is here to hustle, and soon she is going to make a shocking revelation...” says Melanie.
“She takes no nonsense from anyone. Pam will throw everyone under the bus - just for money and good times. But be careful when crossing swords with her. She will sell you out.”
