kykNET and Showmax are on a search for proposals for TV shows and movies from local writers, producers and filmmakers.
They're looking to commission programming in these categories:
kykNET Drama
kykNET Reality and Entertainment
kykNET Documentary
kykNET Advertiser Funded Programme (AFP)
Afrikaans Feature Films
Showmax Wild Card (Any genre)
Must knows
Applications are happening now and will be assessed by the M-Net Premium Channels Content team, consisting of commissioning editors who represent each category.
The top 15 concepts will be chosen in each category and will be evaluated by the Content and Channel Heads.
Five final concepts will be selected to pitch for the panel, which will happen at Silwermark pitching sessions at this year's Silwerskerm Film and TV Festival in late August.
Depending on how the pitch goes, these concepts may be picked up to be produced and broadcast on any of the M-Net channels or Showmax.
Applications need to be in English but the dialogue in the show or movie must be 70% Afrikaans.
