3rd Degree will screen a Channel 4 documentary called Half Ton Man on Tuesday 16 May, about the once-fattest man in the world, Patrick Deuel.
Deuel once weighed almost 500 kilogrammes before he was rescued from his house where he had been immobile for seven years and given emergency gastric bypass surgery.
Emergency crews had to remove the walls of his home in Valentine, Nebraska, in order to free him and it took six hours of transportation in a special ambulance to get him to hospital.
The documentary - which first aired on the UK's Channel 4 in February 2006 - chronicles Deuel's battle with obesity, his strict calorie diet which saw him reduce his weight by half and his continued food compulsion which doctors say will have deadly consequences.
It also examines the pressures placed on extremely obese people and on the people who care for them.
The episode of 3rd Degree airs on Tuesday 16 May, at 20h00.
