Synopsis
Dagbreek is the Afrikaans paycaster's freshly-baked breakfast show that airs every weekday from 06h00 - 08h00 with the aim of giving viewers added energy for their day ahead.
Each day, when the cock crows to celebrate another dawn, the programme provides fresh news and comprehensive discussions of current affairs. With the help of six professional and familiar faces viewers are no longer kept in the dark about events that may impact on their day.
As can be expected from any breakfast, the show is compiled in a structured way with space for studio interviews, interesting stories, responsible reporting, lifestyle tips and arts discussions.
The breaking news of the day is at the top of the breakfast menu and regular weather reports ensure that the only unexpected storms viewers might encounter will be found in their cups of coffee.
After the news, regular guests - who are experts in their own fields - will ramble their way through fresh information with the presenters, particularly on thorny issues such as the economy, politics and other business matters.
Personal and community development is just as important to a breakfast show and there is therefore a big emphasis on issues that affect viewers these days such as agricultural business, technological and medical issues and a wide range of green and eco issues.
Fitness, the latest fashions, celebrities, pets and DIY projects are just a few of the other issues that are addressed on a daily basis. Viewers can take delight in the adventures that each day presents before taking a last sip of their orange juice before heading off to work.
Dagbreek is not just a one-way conversation with its viewers about breakfast - social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are also used to ensure that viewers can have their say as well. There are also daily prizes to be won on the show.
