Description

American Crime is an American anthology crime drama television series created by John Ridley which tells a new story each season, exploring complex issues like race, class and gender politics.

The first season follows the aftermath of a murder in Modesto, California. War veteran Matt Skokie is killed during a home invasion in which his wife, Gwen, is brutally attacked. The series uses the crime and its subsequent journey through the legal system to explore complex issues, mainly through the lenses of the victims' and suspect's families.

The second season takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana, where a public high school student accuses several members of a private school's championship basketball team of sexually assaulting him and then taking photos of the incident and posting them online.

Season 3 follows a number of unconnected storylines that explore issues of forced labour, sex trafficking, immigration, socio-economic divides and individual rights.

Season 1 stars Felicity Huffman as Barb Hanlon, Timothy Hutton as Russ Skokie, W. Earl Brown as Tom Carlin, Richard Cabral as Hector Tontz, Caitlin Gerard as Aubry Taylor, Benito Martinez as Alonzo Gutiérrez, Penelope Ann Miller as Eve Carlin, Elvis Nolasco as Carter Nix and Johnny Ortiz as Tony Gutiérrez.

Season 2 stars Felicity Huffman as Leslie Graham, Timothy Hutton as Dan Sullivan, Lili Taylor as Anne Blaine, Elvis Nolasco as Chris Dixon, Trevor Jackson as Kevin LaCroix, Connor Jessup as Taylor Blaine, Joey Pollari as Eric Tanner, Angelique Rivera as Evy Dominguez and Regina King as Terri LaCroix.

Season 3 stars Felicity Huffman as Jeanette Hesby, Regina King as Kimara Walters, Timothy Hutton as Nicholas Coates, Lili Taylor as Claire Coates, Connor Jessup as Coy Henson, Richard Cabral as Isaac Castillo and Benito Martinez as Luis Salazar.

American Crime was written, directed and produced by Oscar winning screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years A Slave). Executive producers are John Ridley and Michael J. McDonald. American Crime is produced by ABC Studios.
