Season 5

Packed to the Rafters is an Australian comedy-drama television series created by Bevan Lee which features a mix of lighthearted comedy woven through the plot and revolves around the Rafter family facing work pressures and life issues, whilst also tackling serious social issues.

The series premiered in Australia on the Seven Network on 26 August, 2008.

Packed to the Rafters premiered in South Africa on DStv's Sony Entertainment Television (SONY) channel on Tuesday 30 June 2009, at 20h30. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 5 premiered on SONY on Wednesday 1 May 2013, at 15h35. New episodes broadcast in a double bill weekly, at varying times. There are 22 episodes in the fifth season.

New Rafter Electrical employee Frankie Calasso (Brooke Satchwell) causes some major sparks with Coby (Ryan Corr). Can love help Coby stay on the straight and narrow?

A year on from Melissa's death, Ben (Hugh Sheridan) decides to move forward with his friendship with Emma (Zoe Cramond). Will Ben allow himself to follow his heart and find happiness again?

Julie (Rebecca Gibney) and Dave's (Erik Thomson) relationship is tested by the attention of Julie's new boss, Adam Goodman (Cameron Daddo), and the consequences of Dave's night out on the town gone wrong.

After eloping, Carbo (George Houvardas) and Retta (Hannah Marshall) are surprised by a dramatically life-changing event.

Ted (Michael Caton) faces a major health scare and Jake (James Stewart) begins an emotional journey when his father re-enters his life.

Nathan (Angus McLaren) returns to the Rafter household to drop a bombshell and Dave's brother Matt Jennings (Jacob Allen) finds resistance is futile when Voula (Olivia Stambouliah) locks him in her sights.
