The Uzalo stars lit up Morningside in Durbs on Tuesday evening (30 October) when they came out for the show's Season 4 wrap party.

They've finished filming their record breaking fourth season and now they're on break before they start filming Season 5 later this month.

The party was a celebration of their 10.2 million viewership and it was also a thank you to everyone who's been part of making it happen - the cast, the crew, the media and Uzalo fans.

I hit the party for us to bring you inside access to the shindig...

It was held on the rooftop of the Twenty5 restaurant, to a backdrop of crazy gale force winds and moody, brooding skies - see them in the background - this pic was taken at about 18h00.

The marquee saved everyone's "do's" and the wind died down as the partay heated up...

Nkunzi | Masoja Msiza

Mondli | Thembinkosi Thwala
Qhabanga | Siyabonga Shibe

These three are very tight. They arrived first and whooped round a game of cards with the Worst Dressed dude of the night...

Me with Last Number | Mxolisi "Zuluboy" Majozi

He provided the entertainment with his new single Lento.

Zekhethelo | Nyalleng Thibedi

Flash fact: she has perfect toes.

Gabisile | Baby Cele

Gabi after downing a tequila. That stuff was hot, baby!

GC | Khaya Dladla

Did you know? GC's had TVSA on his phone's home screen since before he made it big.

The Uzalo fans who were there went berserko for him when he arrived.

Zandile and Wandi

Two of the viewers who won invites to the party in a social media fan competish.

They rocked it Old Skool - they got autographs instead of selfies.

Mbatha | Thabo Mnguni

Talk about being happy to see us!

Sups.

 Mastermind | Ntokozo "TK" Dlamini

A thank you to you from The Man.

Thobile | Nokuthula Mabika

The biggest party animal of the night - after Gabi.

MaMlambo | Gugu Gumede

I didn't recognise her at first - she looked so different from different angles.

The cast and crew on stage with...

Uzalo Executive Producer | Mmamitse Thibedi

Noticably missing-in-action were: MaNgcobo | Dawn Thandeka King, who had a family emergency in Gauteng and couldn't attend.

Mxolisi | Nay Maps | Duh! - he thought the party was next week.

Nokubonga Ngobeni

The Best Dressed of the night and guess what? She's the Wardrobe Mistress!

Pleja praise270.

Now we know why Nay Maps thought the party was next week!... he's out of Season 5. This news from Uzalo released today:

In season 5, which launches in February 2019, viewers will witness the departure of long-standing cast members Nay Maps (Mxolisi Mdletshe), Nokuthula Mabika (Thobile) and Glen Gabela (Mfundisi Mdletshe)

“Season 4 brought incredible evolution and riveting storylines to our screens, and our incredible cast delivered over and above, every time.

We’re so grateful for the golden energy and dedication that Nay Maps, Nokuthula and Glen Gabela brought to Uzalo – they breathed life into their characters and have been a major part of 2018’s success.

Saying goodbye to these characters and actors is so hard, and we do so by wishing them all the best going forward and have no doubt that they will continue to deliver their magic on our screens”, Says Bongi Ndaba, Head Writer for Uzalo.

Uzalo Season 5 promises to take the show to greater heights in 2019.  A range of new cast members will be joining the show, while other existing roles will be amplified.

The show will see the character of Lilly, played by Noxolo Mathula, grow from being an on-call character to a principal cast member.

As part of keeping the show authentic and ‘opening up the industry’, the show will bring on some undiscovered talent in the form of newcomers Thuthuka Mthembu and Nkanyiso Makhanya.

Omagaarsh. That's heart breaking. Now, can somebody explain to me real reasons why Zekhethelo is staying? I couldn't careless about the character, its annoying, and the actor who's portraying the character irks the hell out of me. Its time they killed-off this character.
