Kuli Roberts was a South African fashion and beauty tabloid journalist and television presenter who made her TV debut as the co-presenter of the SABC2 reality television show What Not To Wear, from 2004-2005.
From 2008-2009 she replaced Dineo Ranaka as the female co-host of the SABC1 gossip show The Real Goboza for the second and third seasons.
From 2010-2013 she hosted the celebrity gossip magazine show Headline. She also played a fictional version of herself in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Inkaba, from 2012-2013.
She was also known for her presenting and commentatory on SABC3's daily talk show Trending SA.
Beginning in July 2016 she was one of the four personalities who headlined the show, in which the panel discussed trending hashtags of the day, sparking conversation with guests who delved deeper into issues that were active on social media at the time.
Roberts started her journalism career at Fair Lady, before moving to Drum where she was was fashion and beauty editor, then You, Pace and the tabloid Sunday World.
She is the older sister of actress Hlubi Mboya.
She was one of the celebrities to compete in the sixth season of the SABC3 reality competition Strictly Come Dancing, in 2013. Kuli and her partner Sylvester Sefotlhelo were the second couple to be eliminated from the show.
From 2020-2021 Kuli played socialite Mildred Sefatsa on Seasons 4 and 5 of the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen, a character who preferred younger men to her 60-something husband Bra Socks (Nkanyiso Bhengu).
In 2021 she starred in the Netflix movie Angeliena where she played Tina, one of Angeliena's eccentric friends.
Kuli died on Wednesday 9 February, 2022. Her cause of death was not made public. She was 49.
