Ed Speleers is an English actor and producer best known for playing the title role in the 2006 film Eragon, as well as starring in the period drama television series Downton Abbey.
Ed was nominated by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA, for a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for Eragon, his professional debut.
Other films include lead roles in the thriller A Lonely Place to Die, co-starring Melissa George and Sean Harris; and The Ride, co-starring Anthony LaPaglia, which was selected for the Tribeca Film Festival (2011).
Ed also appears in Love Bite as the lead role opposite Timothy Spall, Jessica Szohr and Kierston Wareing.
