Bio

Matt Lanter is an American actor and model best known for his roles as Horace Calloway in the short-lived ABC political drama Commander in Chief, and as Anakin Skywalker in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its television adaption.

He also starred as bad boy Liam Court in the teen drama television series 90210, from 2008-2013.

Lanter starred as Edward Sullen in the spoof comedy feature Vampires Suck. He was also seen in the psychological thriller The Roommate, opposite Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl).

Born in northeastern Ohio, Lanter's family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, when he was 8 years old. He spent much of his time playing baseball, football and golf.

His love for baseball led him to a position as a batboy with the Atlanta Braves and later, while studying at the University of Georgia, Lanter developed an interest in the film and television industry.

After briefly working as a model, Lanter decided to move to Los Angeles to follow his dream of establishing a successful acting career. The leap of faith turned out to be quite worthwhile, and he was soon landing roles on TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Life, Big Love and Monk, as well as the feature film, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius.

Often recognised for his series regular role as Geena Davis' son on Commander in Chief, Lanter has also recurred on Heroes, and Shark. On stage, Matt made his theatrical debut opposite Laurence Fishburne in Alfred Uhry's Without Walls at The Mark Taper Forum.

Lanter's films include the horror film Sorority Row, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Disaster Movie and Wargames 2: The Dead Code. Prior to that, he established himself as a tween heartthrob, playing the lead in the film The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream.

He also has a starring role as Roman, an Atrian who is falling for a Human named Emery whom he met at the age of six, in the science fiction teen drama television series Star-Crossed.

Outside of acting, Lanter actively supports the Alzheimer's Association and has participated in various events for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (one of which was a celebrity dodgeball team promoting the premiere of Ben Stiller's movie, Dodgeball, in which the proceeds also went to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation) and the Nautica Malibu Triathlon where he was part of the Commander in Chief celebrity relay team.

Lanter currently resides in Los Angeles.
