Bio
Zola Hashatsi is a South African actor best known for presenting and hosting a wide variety of shows, including iCrew, Crazed Out and Hush.
He graduated from the Technicol SA College in Centurion, Gauteng in 2006. Although his home language is Zulu he also speaks English, Xhosa, Sotho and Afrikaans as well.
In 2006 he directed and starred in his own stage play at the Market Theatre Lab. in Johannesburg; appeared in a television commercial for Outsurance; and had a minor role as a waiter in two scenes on e.tv's soapie Scandal!
From June 2006 Hashatsi co-presented (with Pearl Thusi) the kid's show iCrew every Friday at 15h00. iCrew was a fully interactive animated show, allowing viewers to influence what goes on within the show using their cellphones. By registering with iCrew and sending SMS messages to the show, viewers could play games, check out new cellphone technology, get downloads and more.
In 2007 Hashatsi was the main host of the kids game show Crazed Out, which premiered on e.tv on Thursday 3 May, at 15h30. In 2013 and 2014 he guest starred on the e.tv drama series eKasi: Our Stories and the e.tv soapie Rhythm City respectively.
In 2014 he hosted the travel show South Streets – My Mzansi Adventure on eKasi+, which places the viewer alongside the presenter as he navigates culture, cuisine, communities and challenges full of adventure, with the help of local guides, ensuring that the show has the real inside track to the different locals visited.
In 2015 he began co-hosting (with Refilwe Modiselle) the e.tv celebrity magazine show Hush, in which he and Refilwe interview celebrities in an informal environment and go backstage at various events, giving viewers a scoop of the latest in Mzansi celebville.
