Reality Check is a South African reality television series produced by Endemol and Rainbow Pepper which follows three popular socialites per season as they tackle social issues in an effort to prove to South Africa that there's more to them than the glitz, glamour and public, tabloid-making shenanigans that they are known for.
The socialites step out of their glamorous comfort zone to get down to some serious ground work. It's an emotional roller-coaster journey as these divas embark on a quest to accomplish various life-changing missions.
The intention is to show their fans that behind the image of glamour, fame and tantrums lies real ladies who are affected South Africa's social issues. They are dedicated to making a difference and committed to doing their bit to contribute towards building a better South Africa.
In each episode, each diva receives a mystery SOS SMS that outlines their goodwill mission; they then meet at the scene and begin their journey to do good. They are required to use their business connections, fame and flattery to make a big impact by making small wishes happen.
In Season 2 a reward of R2,000 was given for each episodic task that was successfully executed by the socialites. This means they had the potential to raise up to R24,000 by the end of the season. They donated this amount to a charity that touched their hearts.
