PICTURE FORMAT

720p (16:9 HDTV)

ABOUT

On 1 November, 2021, two channels - M-Net City 115 and Vuzu 116 - combined to form Me with largely the same programming, albeit it in a different scheduling structure.

The channel repeats international content previously broadcast in first-run by M-Net channels for the "Premium" bouquet subscribers (M-Net and 1Magic), a line-up which began with dramas like The Rookie, NCIS: New Orleans and Lioness; and reality programming including "The Real Housewives" franchise.

The final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show also featured in the channel's opening line-up, as a first run and not a repeat from M-Net.

M-Net City was intended as a channel where viewers could catch up on international series which had aired on M-Net and 1Magic, while Vuzu was the voice of an edgier African youth.

Me was created to feature the best of both its predecessors, while establishing a new identity crafted with the discerning audience in mind.

Me is a destination for primarily the 18- to 34-year-old market, and, in addition to international scripted content, features lifestyle shows and celebrity content that has been previously broadcast on the premium channels.

Me launched with daily episodes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show at 16h00 followed by The Rookie, NCIS: New Orleans, Survivor Australia and Young Sheldon from 17h00 to 20h00.

From 20h30 there was a mix of local and international series like Lioness, Prodigal Son, All American and 9-1-1.

The Real Housewives (starting with The Real Housewives of Atlanta) bring the drama every weekday at 21h30, leading to a late-night slot at 22h30, with international dramas and thrillers like Godfather of Harlem, Clarice and Flight Attendant.

Saturdays and Sunday are filled with gameshows, talent shows and reality shows like Beat Shazam, American Idol and Growing Up Hip Hop.

Sunday evenings at 20h00, feature acclaimed dramas such as Queen Sugar.

Me closed down permanently on 31 March, 2024.
