eNCA is looking to hire a weekend Sports Reporter to report from the channel's Cape Town branch.
What you'd need to do on the job:
- Take direction from Executive Producer, Sports Editors.
- Work within a team.
- Assist the Cape Town sports department in production of sports news.
- Identify angles, story ideas and key interviewees for Sports News bulletins.
- Conduct interviews and manage sports news shoots in the field where required.
- Contribute to writing of scripts for sports news bulletins.
- Work with a camera person and video editor on sports news stories.
- Take direction from sub-editors.
- Copy taste and monitor websites and newspapers for potential stories for Sports News
Requirements:
- Should have at least 2 years reporting experience.
- Matric certificate.
- Good knowledge of sport.
- Good command of the English language.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Good judgement.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be computer literate.
Please note:
- The successful candidate will work irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.
- You'll be required to work every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
