Obey Muchipisi is a Zimbabwean-born actor, singer, ballroom dancer, presenter, voice artist and news reader who has played roles in numerous South African television series including Generations, Rhythm City, Tshisa, Erfsondes and Ya Lla.

Born in Mutasa, Zimbabwe, Muchipisi achieved his O' Level at Harare High and his A' Level at St Andrews High. Obey holds a B.A. in Media Studies degree with TV Productions as a major.

Besides the degree Obey has professional qualifications as an Accountant (CIS), P.R. consultant (UNISA) and Film Actor (Auteur Film School, Cape Town).

Always a practical person, he's also done speech and drama (The Play House, Johannesburg), screen writing (Pamela Douglas) and screen writing (Linda Aaronson).

He appeared in several Zimbabwean productions, including a daily soap, a drama series, a public service announcement and audio dramas.

In South Africa, he has appeared in the soapies Generations and Rhythm City and in the drama series Tshisa, Erfsondes and eKasi: Our Stories.

Most would know him from his comic turn on the eKasi story entitled "The Boy Next Door" (Season 3, Episode 8) as Bambanani, a young Zimbabwean who ends up in Soweto and discovers that in order to get the girls he has to first impress the gents.

Obey's talent has not only been limited to South Africa and Zimbabwe: he also worked for Sound City TV in Nigeria as a programme scheduler/writer for live television.

He has also acted in the films Jozi Kings and Ordinary People and in the short films Wedding Day and Yolanda. He was also a presenter for Kids Net and National Radio FM.

A jack of all trades in the entertainment industry, he has a tenor singing voice, is a ballroom dancer, a hairdresser, a cameraman, a presenter and MC.

Besides acting he also works for Gaenor Artiste Management in the child actors department.

Obey is multilingual, speaking English, Zulu, Sotho and Shona.
