Kym Whitley is a Sudanese-born American actress and comedienne best known for her television sitcom roles as Mrs. Pinckney in My Brother and Me (1994), as Darice Mayberry in Sparks (1996-1998) and as Juanita in Animal Practice, in 2012.

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and introduced to the world by Hollywood, California, Whitley became a staple on television, guest starring on such popular programs as Grey's Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, That's So Raven, My Wife and Kids, The Boondocks and The Cleveland Show.

In addition, she created and co-hosted her own evening talk show on BET entitled Oh Drama! and co-hosted the syndicated The Brian McKnight Show. Whitley was also a host on the NBC show School Pride.

Whitley's film credits are vast. She is an in-demand player, starring alongside some of Hollywood's elite such as Johnny Depp, Jennifer Aniston, Martin Lawrence, Jim Carrey, Ice Cube and Eddie Murphy in such box office hits as Next Friday, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Baby Boy, I Love You, Man, Deliver Us from Eva, Along Came Polly, The Perfect Man, Fun with Dick and Jane, College Road Trip, Black Dynamite, Rango and the 2012 release with Matt Damon, We Bought a Zoo.

In addition to her television and film appearances, Whitley performs stand-up routines throughout the world. Simultaneously, she owns and operates Kwick Whit Productions and has produced several projects including Love Chronicles, Cruising for Love with Kym Whitley, and the feature-length film 35 and Ticking.

She donates her time and talent to as many fundraisers as her schedule allows, focusing her time on HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), women's shelters, victims' rights and anything having to do with children.

In 2001, Whitley started her own non-profit organisation called Comics 4 Kids, which hosts toy drives during Christmas and celebrity basketball games on the East Coast.

In 2014 she began starring in the sitcom Young & Hungry as Yolanda, Josh's witty, blunt but kind-hearted housekeeper.
