Lorna Maseko (known during her marriage as Lorna Maseko-Lukhele) is a South African ballet dancer, choreographer, MC and television presenter best known as a presenter on the SABC3 lifestyle magazine programme Top Billing.
Credited as the first professional ballet dancer of colour in South Africa, Maseko grew up in Alexandra township. Originally contracted at Ballet Theatre Afrikan, she later joined the South African Ballet Theatre company as the only black professional.
In 2007 she left ballet to pursue a television career, joining the SABC as a presenter and a producer on a show called Afro Showbiz News for SABC Africa. While working there she entered the first ever Top Billing Presenter Search and made it to the Top 10.
She also co-hosted and produced a live current affairs, magazine breakfast show, The Weekender on SABC News International.
She left her presenting gig in 2009 and started her own Events and Lifestyle Management company, before being asked by Top Billing to film a segment for the 2010 World Cup. After that, she landed a regular contract on the show.
On 30 December, 2011 she married sales executive Gcina Lukhele. The couple were divorced in 2016.
After several television and event appearances in the ensuing years, she was named as a judge on the SABC1 reality competition show So You Think You Can Dance, in 2013.
In 2014 she was a contestant on the e.tv game show I Love South Africa and the featured guest in a Season 2 episode of the SABC1 music talk show Zaziwa.
In 2016 she hosted the first season of the SABC3 reality competition series Top Chef South Africa.
In 2017 she hosted her own cooking and lifestyle reality series, The Hostess with Lorna Maseko, in which she creates bespoke culinary and experiential moments for ordinary South Africans, celebrities and captains of industry.
