Schalk Bezuidenhout is a South African comedian, actor, MC and television personality best known for his starring role as Danny Beyers in the kykNET comedy series Hotel.

Born and raised in Kempton Park, he matriculated from Hoërskool Jeugland before moving to Cape Town to study a BA Drama at the University of Cape Town, graduating with honours cum laude in 2015.

He won the Savanna Newcomer Award at the Comics Choice Awards 2013, which led to several high profile gigs including opening for Trevor Noah in 2015 and 2017.

He first appeared on television as the featured host in an episode of the standup comedy series Comedy Central Presents... Live @ Parkers, which aired on Comedy Central on Sunday 6 September, 2015.

He was next cast as the host of the newly-formed Afrikaans lifestyle channel VIA's dating game show Die Kliek, which debuted two days after the channel launch in November 2015.

Schalk next appeared in an episode of the SABC2 comedy sketch show The Bantu Hour in 2016, in which he was the featured guest. In the same year he won an episode of the Comedy Central Roast Battle, defeating Mark Banks.

He landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Danny Beyers in the kykNET mockumentary comedy series Hotel, which premiered on 11 July, 2016.

He was a guest comedian in an episode of the Mzansi Magic comedy variety series Mzansi Comedy Nights which aired on Valentine's Day, 2018 (Season 2, Episode 6), along with fellow comedians Jay Boogie and Thapelo Kingflat.

A month later he was a presenter at the 12th annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs).

His own comedy special, Schalk Bezuidenhout: Lewendig, aired on kykNET NOU! on 7 March, 2018. The special, recorded on 16 August, 2016 at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria, aired later in the year on kykNET & kie as well.

Schalk was one of the panel of Roasters at the Comedy Central Roast of Somizi, which aired on 7 May, 2018.

He had a guest role as a priest in the season finale of the kykNET drama series Sara se Geheim, which aired on 3 July, 2018 (Season 2, Episode 13).

Also in 2018, Schalk starred in the feature film Kanarie (Canary), a coming-of-age war musical about a small town boy who gets chosen to serve his compulsory two year military training in the South African Defence Force Choir and Concert group - known as the "Canaries" - during the height of the Apartheid regime.

He was also the feature guest in the third episode of the comedy travel series Trippin' with Skhumba, in which he took Skhumba Hlophe back to his hometown of Kempton Park to reveal where he came from.

He next had a guest role in the season premiere of the supernatural drama Die Spreeus, which debuted on kykNET on 9 April, 2019.

On the same day his talk show Die Ware Naarheid met Schalk Bezuidenhout debuted on kykNET.

The following year he was a recurring guest star in the kykNET sketch comedy series Cas Oppie Cassie, in the reality spoof segment Die Laager.

Also in 2020, he was named as the new co-host (with Sorina Erasmus) of the SABC2 game show Fundis.

In 2021 he played the role of Petrus on the kykNET soapie Binnelanders, making his first appearance in Season 16, Episode 161, which aired on 18 January.

He also appeared in an episode of the Bachelorette South Africa on M-Net, in which he helped Qiniso judge a drag contest. The episode aired on 11 March, 2021 (Season 1, Episode 5).
