Sphamandla Dhludhlu is a South African actor best known for his role as Mavusana on the 1Magic soapie The River.
Born in Thokoza township in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, he grew up in KwaZulu-Natal then returned to Johannesburg at the age of 10.
He attended the Fuba School of Drama and Visual Arts in Johannesburg from 2012-2013 where he studied theatre and camera acting, scriptwriting, computer literacy, communication, directing, dance and poetry.
He later studied voice and acting with renowned actress Dorothy Ann Gould and attended acting for camera classes with Duma Ndlovu's Black Dog Media workshops.
Sphamandla made his television acting debut with a cameo in the e.tv polygamy drama series Umlilo, in 2015.
He followed this up with a recurring role as a nurse called John on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy.
Also in 2015, he landed a major recurring role in the e.tv soapie Rhythm City as Themba, the brother of Suffocate (Mduduzi Mabaso). The character was killed off in 2017 by Suffo's wife Niki (played by Nolo Phiri).
He played the recurring role of the Milner's barman in the first season of the Mzansi Magic soapie Isithembiso, making his first appearance in the role in Season 1, Episode 65, which aired on 24 July, 2017.
The following year he landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as one of the Sebatjane family, Lindani, in another polygamy drama - this time the Mzansi Magic series iKhaya.
The series premiered on Mzansi Magic on 8 January, 2018 and returned for a second season in 2019.
Also in 2018, Sphamandla played the recurring role of Simon on the third season of the SABC1 sitcom Thandeka's Diary, making his first appearance on 20 August, 2018 (Season 3, Episode 6).
The following year he began playing the role of Mavusana on The River, introduced in Season 2, Episode 192, which aired on 22 October, 2019. He returned for the next two seasons in the role.
In 2021 he landed another starring role, this time in the 1Magic drama series The Station.
In the show he plays Caesar, a young man determined to see the business succeed to improve his socio-economic conditions and support his father Themba (Ernest Ndlovu), who is wheelchair-bound.
The Station premiered on 1Magic on 3 April and on Mzansi Magic on 5 April, 2021.
On 7 February, 2022 he debuted on the M-Net soapie Legacy in the role of as Jabulani Bhengu, a handsome trickster who exploits Sanele (Caddy Tsotetsi) for money when Sanele becomes mesmerised by him.
